iPhone Apps Online: From Games to Training

A few months ago, Apple announced that users have downloaded over one billion applications from their App Store, which is easily the biggest and most popular applications site on the internet. While most of these applications (or apps) are available for a nominal fee, some of them are free. Even more impressively, the iPhone Apps catalogue now includes over 100,000 programs. many of which may be totally helpful for training and business purposes.

The App Store also includes music and games for the iPod, but really it has been iPhone downloads that have propelled sales into the stratosphere. These apps are available to most internet users in over 77 countries around the world.

So, what do people use apps for? As you might imagine with over 100,000 programs, they can be used for just about anything from surfing the internet to playing mobile games and training of some description or other. There are even groups of applications that are known as office apps that can be used by people when they don’t have access to a computer. For instance, if your computer is running low on batteries and you need to edit an important report, you can do it right on your iPhone with office apps.

But by far the most popular applications the App Store sells are mobile games. In fact, when Apple released a list of its ten most popular applications, almost all of them were mobile games. It’s hard to say why these games are so popular. Perhaps it’s because they’re fun and relatively inexpensive when compared with some of the more advanced office apps.
